Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Standalone Books That Need A Sequel
This week's TTT is all about one-off, standalone books that we simply want more of. A sequel? A companion? We can only hope that maybe the authors hear our pleas. I've actually split this prompt in half, 5 books I'd love to see a second book of and 5 that were series that just vanished without finishing...
1. An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
I was so sad to learn this book was a standalone. I would love to see more of this world, maybe a companion novel in Gadfly's perspective?
Wendy has teased for years and years about following this one up with Remember Me (Cass and Rock's book) and I'd really love to see that happen!
3. Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
I don't necessarily need a sequel of Eliza and Her Monsters... I just want Monstrous Sea to be a real thing!
4. Freeks by Amanda Hocking
I really enjoyed this one and I really would like to see what happens to the characters after they left Caudry.
5.Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie
As I said in my updated review way back in 2015, I would love for this book to have a sequel where Alice and Carter return to Archer House as adults and realize the ghost of their aunt is still around.
And 5 Book Series I Wonder if We'll Ever See the Next Books of...

And 5 Book Series I Wonder if We'll Ever See the Next Books of...
1. the Annabelle Lee series
Dead on the Delta and Blood on the Bayou were the beginning of a promising adult urban fantasy series... that went nowhere. I loved these books and kept waiting and waiting for a third book that would never come. The way Blood on the Bayou ends makes you think there's going to be more so you're not really satisfied, and the blurb makes you think there will be more books to come so what gives?
2. The Reaper Diaries Trilogy by Michele Vail
Honestly, I don't care anymore because I didn't love the second book of this trilogy but you set it up to have a third book that just never comes out? Really?
3. The Requiem Red by Brynn Chapman
I loved this book. There was supposed to be a sequel. What happened??? I know the publisher was having issues but is the sequel just never going to happen? How will I see how it ends?
4. The Uprising Trilogy by Chelsea Luna
5. Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige
I read an eARC of this book nearly 3 years ago not realizing it was the second book in a trilogy, but where is the 3rd book? I've been waiting since 2016!
Okay, so I really didn't like this one a lot but after a while I got to thinking about what would happen next and I'd like to read the next book which originally I thought was coming out last year but I see on Goodreads its not supposed to come out until 2020. For real? UGH!!!!
What standalone books do you wish had a sequel?
Let me know in the comments or drop me a link to your TTT!
Happy Reading Bookdragons!
I couldn't agree with you more about wanting a sequel to Eliza.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more on I Am Legend. Wow, that was a good read.
