It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - 5 October 2020

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

Happy Monday Bookdragons! It's my first "It's Monday! What Are You Reading?" post since I moved in July. I took a blogging hiatus for a few months but now I'm back.

What I've Been Reading Recently:

Tempting Lies by Sara Whitney

I joined the review team for Sara Whitney, not having read anything by her before but I really enjoyed this fake-dating romance.

Meet Me On Love Lane by Nina Bocci
I've worked with Nina's promo services before for Tijan and a couple other authors but I hadn't read any of her books before. I've had this one sitting on my shelf since spring when I got my ApollyCon books but I was hesitant because I wasn't sure I'd like it. Since it has a nice fall cover I finally gave it a try now (even though ironically this book is set in summer, not fall) and I loved it. It wasn't as cheesy as a Hallmark movie and it even had a little heat (okay a spark, I definitely could have used more heat). I definitely want to read the first and third books in the series (although they can each be read as a standalone).

One by One by Ruth Ware

Okay, this book is my most recent 5-star favorite that I will recommend to everyone. I've been reading a lot of thrillers this year and this one is one of my favorites so far! If you like Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None and mysteries where a group of people are cut off from the rest of the world and begin dying off... this is the book for you.

Currently Reading:

Don't Turn Out the Lights Anthology

I'm (slowly) listening to the audiobook of this one before bed and it is eerie, it's weird, and it's full of stories by some of the best horror writers.

Next Read:

more Ruth Ware

Since I really loved One by One I want to read more of Ruth Ware's backlist. Have you read anything by her? What would you recommend I read next?

  1. Ooo I definitely want to read One by One now! I loved her In a Dark Dark Wood, but that was the only other one of hers I liked.

  3. You listen to horror stories before bed! I couldn't do that. One by One does sound intriguing. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
