The hot single dad next door.
And one accidental sext later, my massive crush on him is no longer a secret.
It’s my own damn fault. I’m thirty years old, for heaven’s sake. I’m a kindergarten teacher and a (reasonably) responsible adult. I should know better than to get tipsy and draft a fake text listing all the dirty things I wish Officer Cole Mitchell would do to me.
I wasn’t supposed to hit send.
He wasn’t supposed to see it.
And he definitely wasn’t supposed to text back telling me to go on . . .
Because after that, things escalate quickly.
Cole is everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s sexy and protective. A devoted father to his little girl. A dedicated cop the whole town adores. The kind of guy you can trust to keep his hands to himself, even when you’re desperately hoping he won’t.
I’m not the girl he thought he’d end up with, but after all this time, I might finally get the chance to say the words I’ve always dreamed of . . . make me yours.
My Review:
This series is so bingeable and book 2 is just as enjoyable of a read as book 1.
Cole is a single father to a 9-year-old daughter after his wife died in childbirth. His friends and his mother have been trying to get him back out there for a while now but he made a promise to his daughter when she was 5 that he wouldn't get remarried. Not that he doesn't still have needs...
Cheyanne has been in love with Cole for as long as she can remember. She either dates guys that remind her of him or his opposite and it never works out. But when she accidentally sexts him what she desires and he answers back it ignites a spark between them. But will Cole be brave enough to act on it? Or will his fear of losing someone else he loves make him pump the breaks?
I really liked how the author portrayed Cole's anxiety issues throughout the book, it was very well done. And I really loved watching Cheyanne and Cole's relationship develop, they definitely deserved it. The chemistry between them was electric.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's sexy, it's sweet, and parts of it will break your heart and put it back together.
