It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

What I Read Last Week:
I read this one for an upcoming blog tour which I signed up for because Last Things was one of my most anticipated spring releases. I really enjoyed this book, there were a few things I didn't like but overall I have a positive opinion. Full review to come in May!

This was a quick read and it took me no time at all to whip through for book club. There was a lot of things about the story in general that struck me as unappealing, but it was an okay read.
I was really looking forward to this one. It turned out to not be what I expected, but again it was an okay read.

What I Am Reading Now:

I'm really excited for this one! Daisy Jones and the Six is my book club's pick for April and I just started it this morning.

Up Next:
This book has been calling to me since I got it in February and I can finally say I've read down my ARCs enough to get to it!

Bookish (And Not So Bookish) Thoughts - 28 March 2019

Bookish (And Not So Bookish) Thoughts is a Weekly Meme hosted by Christine @ Bookishly  Boisterous.

Happy Thursday Bookdragons!

1. Do you ever have just lazy weeks where you know there's stuff you have to do; housework, blogging, review books to read, etc.  but you're just tired of your routine and just need some time off? That was me last week. I read a lot but I didn't do much besides that.

2. I bought way too many books this month. I just kind of went on a spree when I should be
saving for my fall vacation. I decided against getting a ticket for next year's ApollyCon because
there weren't many authors attending that I'd actually like to meet so I figured I wouldn't have to
worry so much about May's paychecks and just sort of went for it with March's. I regret nothing.

3. I'm nearly caught up on my ARC reading. The only ones I have left are May-August releases so I have plenty of time. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

4. I watched Game of Thrones for the first time tonight and I loved it! I'm going to try to catch up before the final season, but it's going to take a lot of binging!

5. My grandmother and I started a two-woman book club this month. Our pick this month was All We Left Behind: Virginia Reed and the Donner Party. My grandmother just finished so I need to catch up so we can discuss. Next month we're doing Daisy Jones and the Six!

6. It's finally warm enough that I don't need to wear boots out! I'm so glad to be back to walking more and taking off a few of the pounds I put on over the winter.

7. I'm finally nearing the end of my current writing project. I'm about 7k words from hitting my project targets!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - 25 March 2019

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

What I Read Last Week:

I loved this one! It comes out tomorrow so if you haven't gotten your copy, go preorder now!

I binge read a bunch of ARCs this weekend and I really enjoyed You'd Be Mine! It's a country musician romance!

This one is dark and paranormal and completely awesome.

This one is majorly hyped up... I just didn't like it.

Hands down this is my favorite 2019 release so far! I can't wait to get a finished copy in June when it releases!

What I Am Reading Now:
Another one of my ARC reads. This one is for a blog tour in May and I'm really enjoying it so far!

Up Next:
I need to get on this one by the end of the week to finish it for my book club with my grandmother. She just finished it and we need to discuss it.

Finding Elizabeth Discussion Questions for Book Clubs

Are you in a book club that's looking for a new book to indulge in? I'd love for you to read my latest novel Finding Elizabeth; so much so that I've supplied you with some sample discussion questions for you and your book club to use. Should you be interested you can download a copy of the questions below! Happy reading!

1.       What parallels can you draw from France’s economic situation and the events leading up to the French Revolution and our modern economy?
2.      It turns out that Nate’s mother’s paranoia isn’t so unfounded in Part 1. What do you think the sans-culottes / revolutionaries could have done to better handle the situation instead of savagely executing people of aristocratic bloodlines?
3.      Have you ever had a dream so vivid you didn’t know you were dreaming until you woke up? How long after you woke up did it take for the dream to fade?
4.      If you were Elizabeth’s manager and you saw a customer purposefully push or throw something on the floor into the path of your employee to cause them to fall how would you handle the situation? Would you ask the customer to leave or blame your employee?
5.      Why do you think Nate initially runs away after he finds Elizabeth again?
6.      Why do you think Elizabeth automatically assumes Nate invited her to his parents’ party to play a cruel trick on her after Jake and Darcy are so mean to her? Do you think Nate knew Elizabeth’s mother was the bartender hired for the evening?
7.      If someone told you they believed in Reincarnation and thought they knew you in a past life how would you react? Would you believe them?
8.     Elizabeth is shocked when she finds out about her mother’s relationship with Jason. How would you feel if one of your parents were dating someone significantly younger than them?
9.      Do you think it is fate that Elizabeth found her former incarnation’s journal in the bookstore? What do you think of the secrets the journal held?
10.  Do you think Anton is truly evil by nature or do you think he is simply a product of his upbringing? How do you think he would have turned out if he were raised in another setting?
11.   Nate hates that his mother is dating Elizabeth’s father but Elizabeth doesn’t seem to mind. How would you feel if one of your parents were dating your significant other’s parent?
12.  Luciana spots Darcy walking past the store she works in with messy hair and grungy clothes in Chapter 32. What do you think caused her drastic change in appearance?
13.  Do you think it was a coincidence that Jason was near the restaurant in the Third Ward on Elizabeth’s birthday or do you think somehow he knew what was coming?

14.  Who is your favorite character in Finding Elizabeth? Why?
