What I'm Binge-Watching - 1 July 2021

What I'm Binge-Watching is a weekly meme to document all of our favorite binging obsessions. Follow along and let me know what you've been binge-watching lately!

Hey everyone! I haven't posted for a couple weeks because I haven't been watching anything new-new but I have a special movie series to share with you this week as well as a few new shows I'm watching.

Continuing

Current Episode: Season 1 Episode 4 - Birds of a Feather
Finally finished my last watching and I've started from the beginning. I always love the 2-part series premiere, The Murder of Sherlock Holmes and the episode I'm to now, Birds of a Feather is a fun one too.

Current Episode: Season 2, Episode 2 - Family Dinner
I decided to give this show a second chance and I'm really liking it now!

New Obsessions & Recent Binges

Current Episode - Season 2, Episode 1: Nothing But the Blood
I just finished rewatching season 1 of True Blood. I both enjoyed it, and at times found it a little boring. I forgot how much I loved Lafayette but my lust for Jason Stackhouse has cooled considerably since I first watched this show.

Fear Street 3-Part Horror Movie Trilogy
Netflix is airing a three-part horror movie series this month inspired R.L. Stine's classic Fear Street novels. I was lucky enough to win an early screening of Part One: 1994 in an Instagram Giveaway and got to watch it Tuesday night. It was great! Scream meets Goosebumps vibes with a slight amount of gore. Part One premieres on Netflix tomorrow (July 2nd!) with Part Two: 1978 premiering July 9th and Part Three: 1666 premiering on July 16th!

What I'm Binge-Watching - 10 June 2021

What I'm Binge-Watching is a weekly meme to document all of our favorite binging obsessions. Follow along and let me know what you've been binge-watching lately!

There are a few shows I need to catch up on next week and a few I've tried this week to mention...

Continuing

Current Episode: Season 11 Episode 20 - Another Killing in Cork
Only one more season to binge after this!

Current Episode: Season 3, Episode 3 - Daredevils!
Two of my favorite episodes are coming up this season and I can't wait to get to them.

 Current Episode - Season 62, Episode 111

I got behind on Corrie again so I'm going to have to catch up next week.

New Obsessions & Recent Binges

Current Episode - Season 1, Episode 4 - Escape
I was really looking forward to this but I'm not sure if I want to keep watching. You've got the main character who has a depressing home life who joins the game after her (white trash crack whore is what I think of her) mother steals $5600 of her money that she was saving to go on to school. Her best female friend who I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw her. The one hot guy (played by Jack Nicholson's son) who I can't tell if he's secretly good or truly bad. The other semi-attractive guy who's out for revenge. And the geeky African American guy who the main character is best friends with and secretly crushing on who I think might be a judge. It's not exactly unique. And the dares or whatever you want to call them are kind of stupid. Did I mention all of the teens on this show look at least 30?!

Current Episode - Season 1, Episode 5
My mom started watching this on her own on Monday and we all spent Tuesday night binging the first 5 episodes. It's pretty good if I make myself forget that there is a British show called Broadchurch which is basically the same show even with the same lead actor, David Tennet. But it's holding my interest.

Just Added to My Watchlist

Current Episode: Season 1, Episode 1 - Strange Love

I've been wanting to rewatch True Blood recently. I never did see the last two seasons of the show.

What I'm Binge-Watching - 13 May 2021

What I'm Binge-Watching is a weekly meme to document all of our favorite binging obsessions. Follow along and let me know what you've been binge-watching lately!

I got a bit behind on one of my CBS shows so I caught up on that this week, while last weekend I mostly binged horror and lifetime movies with my mom.

Current Episode: Season 9 Episode 22 - Love's Deadly Desire
I'm almost done with season 9. There were some episodes I liked, some I only watched to get past them. Someday I'll have to compile a list of my favorite episodes...

New Obsessions & Recent Binges

Bob Hearts Abishola - Season 2 Episode 18 - God Accepts Venmo
Including this week's episode, I was 5 episodes behind. I love this show but sometimes it's not on every week and I forget to check (since we don't have cable it's not as simple as turning the channel on Monday night at 7:30 to check.). This show always makes me laugh, I can't get enough of it.

Current Episode: Season 62, Episode 97
This isn't really a binge-watch, I watch Corrie as it airs but I have to include it this week. Between the writing and the acting, the current storyline deserves some sort of award. (I live in the US so I don't know if the UK has some version of The Emmys). My heart broke for Nina and Seb and their families and friends over the past week.

Current Episode: Series 1, Episode 1
I'm planning to rewatch this soon. My mom has never seen it and I really think she should!

What I'm Binge-Watching - 22 April 2021

What I'm Binge-Watching is a weekly meme to document all of our favorite binging obsessions. Follow along and let me know what you've been binge-watching lately!

Current Episode: Season 8 Episode 1 - Bite the Big Apple
Finally getting to season 8 and honestly I'm considering just going back to the beginning and watching earlier episodes but there are still a few episodes I love toward the end of the series that I want to watch. Season 8 is where Jessica gets an apartment in New York City and things kind of go downhill from there episode-wise. I prefer her in Cabot Cove over New York.

Current Episode: Season 5, Episode 9 - Care for Bear

We're back to watching this on the weekends when there isn't anything else to watch. They're interesting to watch, especially seeing all the weird things that pets eat, but sometimes you watch too many episodes at once so we have to take a break.

New Obsessions & Recent Binges

The Disappearance of Maura Murray
I kept seeing this when I turned on the Peacock App to watch Murder, She Wrote and my mom and I binged it last Friday and Saturday. Since it is "the disappearance of" and not "the murder of" we're of course left with no resolution but it was interesting stuff. I honestly think Maura is alive out there not wanting to be found. She seemed to have quite a few legal issues and probably just wanted to start over somewhere else. But who knows?

Current Episode: Season 1, Episode 9 - The Long Shot
How well do you know me? Do you know that I'm a huge Alfred Hitchcock fan? Well I am! I've known about this show but it wasn't streaming on any of the streaming services that I use... until I started watching the Peacock app. I finally was able to watch a few episodes last weekend... and I'm a little underwhelmed. Some of the episodes are good, like Breakdown with one of my favorite actors from that time, Joseph Cotten while others, like the dreadful cowboy episode, Triggers in Leash were just plain boring. I'll probably continue watching when I don't have anything else to watch. And maybe plan a Hitchcock movie marathon day soon!

Just Added to My Watchlist/Waiting on Watching

Current Episode: Series 1, Episode 1 - Photochemistry
So I broke down and did a free trial month of Acorn TV. I was using FilmRise to watch Midsomer Murders but the commercials - that were skippy and never played right - were often spliced into random parts of the show, even mid-sentence which was driving me nuts! I've had Acorn before and always meant to watch Dead Still when I had it before so I think I'll give it a try this weekend. There's definitely more to offer on Acorn than BritBox so I might commit to a whole year subscription once my free trial ends!

What I'm Binge-Watching - 25 March 2021

What I'm Binge-Watching is a weekly meme to document all of our favorite binging obsessions. Follow along and let me know what you've been binge-watching lately!

I'm back on track with most of my shows this week, spent part of last weekend binging something new, and I'm contemplating starting some of the teen shows I started watching when I was younger then never finished just to see how they ended.

Continuing

Current Episode - Season 11 Episode 1 - Are They About to Fight?

We've pretty much out-watched Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta at this point and need to take a break. Luckily once we are ready to dive back in there is only one season left on Discovery+

Current Episode - Season 9 Episode 7 - Cry On My Shoulder
This is another show that I'm kind of getting sick of. You can only watch so many before you start zoning out.

Current Episode: Season 2 Episode 7 - The Tale of The Whispering Walls
I know this is a kids show, and I vaguely remember it from the later seasons being on tv when I was little but I watched the one reboot season on Paramount+ and once that ended (it was only 3 episodes) it started with the beginning of the series so I've been watching it while I'm home alone. Most of the episodes are kind of stupid and not at all scary but it is kind of funny to watch.

New Obsessions & Recent Binges

My mom and I finally gave this a chance on Sunday because it looked really good. It kept me interested but there was no resolution at the end. I honestly think if someone had checked into this case sooner maybe something would have come of it, but it has been almost 90 years and anyone who might have known something is long dead.

This is not a binge-watch so much as a documentary my mom and I watched last night. The description on Hulu sounded interesting and we were bored with our usual shows so we gave it a shot. It was awful. It was so low-budget I can't even call it a documentary so much as the creator getting stock video offline and playing it over and over. Everything they said about H.H. Holmes (someone I hadn't heard of before this) was contradicted. One minute they said he'd killed 200 people then said it could never be proven, then that he'd confessed to killing 27 but some of them were still alive so it was a lie, that this "castle" in Chicago had all kinds of twists and turns and he used it to kill people then they disproved that. It basically was a waste of an hour in which you were left wondering if H.H. Holmes actually existed or if this was all just a figment of someone's imagination.

Just Added to My Watchlist

None this Week... Although I just found out that most seasons of my favorite show, Midsomer Murders, is leaving Britbox on March 31st so I'll probably be binging that this coming week.

What I'm Binge-Watching - 18 March 2021

What I'm Binge-Watching is a weekly meme to document all of our favorite binging obsessions. Follow along and let me know what you've been binge-watching lately!

The past few days have been a catch-up of all of my soaps after missing nearly a week with my short-lived career as a packager in the bakery department of the local grocery store. Other than that we're still watching most of our usual stuff.

Continuing

Current Episode - Season 9 Episode 8 - A Trio of Options

Can it be possible that we're almost to the end of catching up on SYTTD: Atlanta? How many seasons are left?

Current Episode - Season 8 Episode 9 - Tip 1960
My mom and I have been marathoning this today since she's home from work. The last episode took place here in Wisconsin and we're about to start S8E9.

Current Episode: Season 1 Episode 9 - A Parching Imbued
I got sidetracked so I've only watched one more episode since last week, but I'm kind of enjoying taking it slow. I still like the show better than the books.

New Obsessions & Recent Binges

I've been catching up on GH on Hulu and I still can't believe *Spoiler Alert* - Highlight to Reveal: That they killed off Franco! But the actor isn't leaving the show so how is that going to work?? And the Peter storyline is getting boring.

Yes, my soap opera addiction stretches across the pond. I started watching Corrie between Christmas and New Years and now I'm hooked! I know it only appears on Britbox on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but I had to binge them this past week because I had accumulated last Wednesday, Friday and this Monday's episodes.

Just Added to My Watchlist

I subscribe to Paramount+ so I can watch my CBS shows and soap operas but I keep seeing previews for this new true crime docuseries and I think I'll check it out!
