It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - 22 June 2020

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

Happy Monday Bookdragons! It's eight days until moving day and I'm so excited. On the other hand my reading time has dwindled as I pack up my remaining books and get everything ready to go.

What I Read Last Week:

Warmaidens by Kelly Coon

I was granted an eARC of this last Thursday and planned to binge it over the weekend. But I couldn't wait and started it right away instead. I really enjoyed Gravemaidens (book 1) but Warmaidens was even better!
(Full review to come closer to the October release date)

Currently Reading:

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

I really wanted to reread this series so I'm listening to the audiobook of SJTR. Funny story... I actually read Hunting Prince Dracula before Stalking Jack the Ripper the first time around - both in physical format - so I'm enjoying the audio narration right now.

Next Read:

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

I've been holding off reading this one for a while and I think now I'm finally ready to tackle it.

What I Read Last Week:

Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

I devoured this book! It was so good and creepy and dark. I didn't want to put it down while at the same time I didn't want it to end. This is definitely getting added to my favorite reads of 2020.
5 0f 5 Stars!

Currently Reading:
Since I really enjoyed Home Before Dark I decided to read Final Girls before what I chose last week for my next read (The House Guest... still listed below). I haven't had a ton of reading time and I honestly just wanted to savor Home Before Dark for a few days before diving into a new book so I'm hoping to get a little further into this one this week.

Next Read:
The House Guest by Mark Edwards

I do still plan to read this one this month and I'm hoping to get to it by the end of the week.

Hey Bookdragons! My reading slowed down last week but I’m still making progress...

What I Read Last Week:

I loved this book!! I devoured it in a day and a half! It kept me guessing about the killer until the end.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1SXbQQQRv2j_fxnN4p1O43M_Q6aiKwNHg
This book was a quick read sure, but it was basically a ripped from the headlines inspired story and I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would.

I’m loving this one. It’s really good, I’m just a little bored being cooped up inside so I haven’t had a chance to read in a couple days.

This one comes out tomorrow so I should definitely start it sometime this week. I haven’t seen any reviews yet but I’ve been looking forward to reading it!

This was a fast read and I really liked the in-between chapters in the supporting character’s perspectives.

Even though I still have to read The Hunting Party (which was on my TBR this month) I had to dive into the ARC of The Guest List that I got in a recent trade. I love the And Then There Were None vibes I get from the setting on this one and I hope I get some reading time in later today.

If I end up enjoying The Guest List I’ll probably take a step back and read The Hunting Party. It’s been on my radar since it first came out but I didn’t pick up a copy until February.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? - 9 March 2020

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

Hey Bookdragons! I swear this is the most productive reading month I’ve had so far this year and it’s only the 9th!

What I Read Last Week:
This was my first read of March and I really loved it! It’s a great psychological thriller with an ending that makes you wonder.

I liked the first season of You, I really did. It was like watching a lifetime movie. It didn’t translate that way on the page. I found Joe creepy and disgusting and ended up DNFing it around page 60.

Yet another book that falls into the category “liked the show, couldn’t get into the book”. Disappointing 🙁

I’ve been meaning to read this book since it released in October but just now finally got around to it. It was good, I enjoyed it, but not as much as the author’s last book, Eliza and Her Monsters. It was a solid 3.5 Star Read.

I had to have this book right away when it came out and so far it hasn’t disappointed. I’m only about 40 pages in but it makes me want to keep reading.

I like the Netflix show and I’ve heard good things about this prequel so I’m excited to read it. I might split my time between this and The June Boys.
