Marcellus starts out as this straight-laced officer of Laterre trying to live up to his grandfather's impossible, imposing footsteps and prove that he is nothing like his father who betrayed the government. He's been sheltered, growing up in Le Dome he's only now beginning to see how the other citizens live in the Frets. Can he stand up for himself and the injustices he's seeing against his grandfather? Or will he ultimately turn into another drone for the government?
