I feel bad calling this one the worst... it really wasn't too bad. But it was only a 3 star read compared to the other books I read in April.

Favorite/Least Favorite Read of March 2020

I read a lot of books in March. Here are my favorite and least favorite.

Favorite

The Guest List by Lucy Foley

This may be an early contender for my favorite read of 2020. This book was so good. It was atmospheric and reminded me of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie and kept me guessing to the end.

Least Favorite

Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel

This book is compared to Sharp Objects in the synopsis but reads more like a ripped from the headlines "what if" of the Gypsy Rose and DeeDee Blanchard case. It wasn't what I expected and I just couldn't separate this book from the reality it mirrors.

I really got into sci-fi last year and I know I read more than a few. Here's looking back on my favorite and not-so-favorite

The Kingdon by Jess Rothenberg

The Kingdom was one of my favorite books last year and I love this futuristic, sci-fi take on amusement parks!

Least Favorite

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

Granted I listened to this book on audio instead of outright reading it but this book just didn't do it for me. Not only because last year seemed like the year of the Anastasia retelling... in a variety of genres... but I can think of at least one other sci-fi attempt besides this one.

Repeat by Kylie Scott

I have a soft spot for male leads who are tattoo artists and second chance romance plus I love this author.

Worst

Sick Kids In Love

So this book still got three stars from me but I didn’t care much for the main character which made me not care about the romance.

Why: this novella was basically useless fluff and advertisement for the author's other books. Could have been posted free on the author's website but she decided to make it an ebook and charge 99¢

Book vs. eReader

Ah, the age old question... book vs. eReader preference. For me it's easy. I prefer physical books because I can read for long periods of time without my eyes bothering me. When I read an ebook for more than a couple hours straight my eyes hurt.

Favorite/Least Favorite YA Paranormal Book

Favorite YA Paranormal Book

This is hard because for a while YA Paranormal Romance was my favorite book genre and there are so many books that I love. But I reread this one every New Year's Eve so I think it's safe to say it's one of my top favorites.

Least Favorite YA Paranormal Book

Least favorite is so much easier than favorite because I really did not like this book and thought it added nothing to the Fallen series.

Book Read in a Day/Book You DNFed

Book Read in a Day

The last book I read in a day (that wasn't a novella or a graphic novel) was Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall. I read it as an ARC a few weeks before it released and couldn't stop reading!

The sad thing is I was really looking forward to The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher but it was so slow and boring and not at all what I was expecting.
