Sunday Post - 3 February 2019

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

I can't believe it is already the first weekend of February. How did that happen? January was it's usually new-year-major-push and I read/finished 13 books with 2 that I'm still working my way through. I also nearly finished the first draft of my YA Fantasy, Monsters & Mist. I'm going to work on it tonight and see if I can get a little closer to completion. The weather is a little warmer than it was earlier in the week but with warmer temps has come sleety-ice which I hate worse than -50 below windchills. But either way, I'm so ready for Spring and Summer.

Bookish (And Not So Bookish) Thoughts - December 6th 2018

Bookish (And Not So Bookish) Thoughts is a Weekly Meme hosted by Christine @ Bookishly  Boisterous.

Happy Thursday Bookdragons! I hope your week is going well. It’s Midsomer Murders night in the Fenner household so I’m in a pretty great mood.

1. I’m loving the new season of Vikings. I was afraid after last year’s finale this season would be a flop but I’m hooked again and amazed that an hour long program passes so quickly. Also, I finally tracked down a Floki Funko Pop! I’m waiting to open the box until Christmas though.

2. I get the weirdest reading slumps. I read a couple fantastic books then it feels like nothing appeals to me. Do other people get that? I’m not even sure the books I DNF are bad or if I’m just not in the right headspace for them at that moment. I should be loving the novelization of Crimson Peak since it’s my favorite movie but I’m just... bored with reading?

3. There’s something not right about the book tree I constructed for Christmas this year. It looks too much like a column. What do you guys think?

4. I take back any complaining I did over the summer waiting for the cab in the 90 degree humidity. Nothing is as miserable as waiting for the cab in the cold while feeling your whole body go numb and the frigid air seeping inside your clothing. I hate winter. 😰

5. For months now I’ve been having the strangest dreams, like stylized versions of places and people I know well. Every night I have these dreams and it’s starting to concern me. They’re not nightmares or anything, they’re more bizarre than anything else.

6. Once again I took on too many arcs for blog tours that have release dates too close together and especially with my current book slump I am definitely feeling the pressure. I have two books I should read and review by next week - one I started and skimmed because I wasn’t feeling it and the other I’m almost afraid to start. Plus I haven’t finished Stain by A. G. Howard and that release isn’t far off either... UGH #bookwormproblems

7. I’m thinking of dyeing my hair some weird color. I went dark brown for the fall but now I’m thinking some extreme color like blue or purple or green and the only problem is stripping my color down enough for the color to be visible.

F is for Friday - 23 November 2018

F Is For Friday is a weekly meme created and hosted by Nomadic Worlds.

How it Works:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Nomadic Worlds ) and link back.
2. Answer the four questions to the best of your ability.
3. Most important of all, enjoy yourself!

Questions:
F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read)
I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
F – Favorite quote of the week/day
F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

F- Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn't have to be your current read)
For the longest time I scoffed at the love I saw this book getting on social media and wrote it off as a book I definitely would not like so why bother. Then I grabbed a copy on my last trip to the library and started reading and holy s***! I haven't had this kind of mad love for a book outside my reading comfort zone since The Thousandth Floor! Officially obsessed!

I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
I'm almost to the end of my library book stack! Yay me! I've seen Scythe a lot on social media but haven't really seen reviews, positive or negative, so I'm going into this one blind and hoping for the best.

F – Favorite quote of the week/day
"I like that you're broken
Broken like me
Maybe that makes me a fool
I like that you're lonely
Lonely like me
I could be lonely with you"
- Lovelytheband, Broken

I feel like screaming these lyrics into the abyss and seeing if anyone responds. Are you broken, broken like me???

F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

1. Awesome online sales.
2. Delicious food.
3. New book obsessions
4. Lifetime Murder Movie Marathons.
5. Possessing a spare pair of winter boots.

Have a great weekend Bookdragons!
